Biography
Bio for the Speaker's Connection: I'm Anthony Arnold, an augmentative and alternative communicator from San Tan Valley, Arizona (originally from Grand Forks, North Dakota). I like to describe my life with cerebral palsy as growing right along with the development of assistive technology, rehabilitation and special education services. In North Dakota, they were barely transitioning people out of state run institutions when I started school and therapies. Because of which, I feel like I got in on the ground level with this new way of thinking. It was almost like I was learning right along with the professionals. Over the years, I have gotten involved with companies, organizations and universities to not only tell my story, but to usher in newer ideas. Most notably, I have worked at PRC-Saltillo for the past 22 years, and currently work for the RERC on AAC as a member of the Training and Dissemination Team. I like sharing these various experiences to shape future generations of inclusion. The more feedback we can gain from folks such as myself, this will only get better. Thanks to modern day technologies such as Zoom, I'm able to speak to groups virtually. If you live in the Phoenix metropolitan area, I would be possibly able to do live events.
