Biography
Morgan Scherer is a late identified AuDHD/PDA gestalt processor, part-time AAC user, and parent of a gestalt processor/part-time AAC user . They are chronically ill, and experienced a brain injury with resulting aphasia. They use both symbol-based aac (which helps with their aphasia), and text-based aac. Morgan studies AAC apps and pagesets, with a focus on how ableism impacts the design of AAC, especially in relation to efficiency and range of built-in vocabulary. Morgan is working on applying to Speech Language PhD programs, in the hope of contributing to neurodiversity affirming AAC research.
